Footbridge Foundation

From rehabilitation to adoption we're building a bridge to a new life for cats and dogs rescued from shelters and off the streets of San Antonio, TX

Your gift goes straight to saving pets’ lives: it funds veterinary care (exams, vaccines, spay/neuter, microchips, medications), quality food and supplies, safe transport, and the behavior support many animals need to heal and trust again. It also helps cover foster and adoption costs so each dog or cat can be placed in a loving, permanent home. Just as important, it supports the trained hands and hearts doing this work every day. If a specific pet’s needs are fully met, any remaining funds stay in the program to help the next animal who arrives.

Meet Beebee & Gabby

Beebee’s Light

She is tiny. She is blind. And she has fought for her life again and again.

Beebee was pulled from the Central Texas floods weighing just 1.5 pounds, so small you could cradle her in one hand, already nearly blind, still trying to purr. Soon after she came into our care, one fragile eye ruptured. The pain was constant, and we prepared her for surgery, until a newly discovered heart murmur made anesthesia too dangerous to try.

Then everything changed again. Beebee crashed. An emergency exam revealed a life-threatening intestinal blockage. She went straight into surgery. It saved her life, at a cost of over $2,100, but it wasn’t the finish line. To finally be comfortable, Beebee still needs a second procedure to remove the ruptured eye that has caused her so much pain.

Through all of it, Beebee remains unmistakably herself: the kitten who leans into hands she cannot see, who chirps and plays by sound and scent, who greets every voice with trust. She is proof that resilience can be soft, that courage can be only a handful big.

Beebee has done the bravest part. Now she needs us to carry her the rest of the way, to a life without pain, to the safe, quiet world she deserves. If her story finds you, please help us finish her care and give this little fighter the gentle future she’s been reaching for all along.

Golden Years Quest:
Gabby's Search for Retirement Bliss
Thirteen-year-old sweet senior Gabby has a heart-wrenching story that took a positive turn with a stroke of luck.

Her foster family took her in when Gabby's caretaker was unable to provide the urgent and basic care she needed. Without their compassionate intervention and open hearts, Gabby would have endured ongoing suffering from anemia and two large masses hanging from her body.

When we first saw Gabby's heartbreaking photos, we weren’t planning on taking her into our foster program. Handling substantial medical cases like Gabby’s can be challenging due to the numerous unknown factors, and the risks are sometimes too great for our small rescue to take on.

Fortunately, through an unexpected twist of fate, we discovered that one of our regular and trusted veterinarians, Dr. Narurkar, was the surgeon who performed the procedure to remove Gabby's two masses. This stroke of luck not only reassured us but also provided us with the necessary information to confidently bring Gabby into our care.

As a team, we are dedicated to helping Gabby grow stronger and healthier. Thriving and happy in her foster home, this beautiful Labrador Retriever deserves to enjoy her Golden Years with love and pampering.

Your purchase of treats will make a difference, ensuring she receives the support needed for a chance at a loving home in her Golden Years.

How We Help
Since 2017, we’ve had one simple promise: rescue, heal, and place adoptable cats and dogs in loving homes. We rely entirely on the generosity of supporters like you; we can’t do it without you.

Rescue & Rehabilitate
We take in pets from local shelters, rescue partners, and community members; provide medical care, spay/neuter, microchips, and behavior support; and give every animal the time and compassion they need to heal.

Thoughtful Adoptions Both Near & Far
Once they’re ready, we match our cats and dogs with great adopters in San Antonio and across the country, coordinating safe transport and ongoing support to set everyone up for success.

Lifesaving Partnerships
We team up with local shelters, rescues, and caring individuals to move fast for animals in need, sharing resources, pulling together for urgent cases, and saving more lives, together.

Community Connection
Through events, education, and hands-on volunteer opportunities, we bring neighbors, businesses, and animal lovers into the mission, building a community where pets and people thrive.
